Women who have been treated for breast cancer may be at risk for arm, breast, and chest swelling called lymphedema. Most women who have had breast cancer will not develop this side effect, but many will. The risk of lymphedema is higher for women who have surgery and radiation therapy to treat breast cancer. Lymphedema is a build-up of lymph fluid in the fatty tissues just under your skin. Thelma's Boutique sells compression sleeves and bras from vendors such as Jobst, Juzo and Bellisse. You must bring a doctor's PRESCRIPTION with the recommended compression so that we can supply you with the correct product. Unfortunatley many insurance companies do not provide adaquate coverage for these products. Please give us a call before your visit so we can give you an accurate estimate of the cost.
