Thelma's Mastectomy Boutique

We are not open on Saturdays but will make time to help our customers if needed.  For the most part, our clients find the time to come see us during our regular hours Tuesday-Friday just like they would for any other medical type visit.  Don't forget that we have extended hours on Thursday from 9:30-7:00. 

At Thelma's we understand the unique needs of every woman we serve.  No appoinments mean no time restrictons.  We normally have three fitters on staff each day so there is usually no waiting period when you walk in the door.  If it is your first time at Thelma's we recommend allotting 45 minutes for your visit.

Take 490 to Goodman St. and head north off the exit.  Park Avenue is less than a mile from the expressway.  Look for the Parkleigh store on the left and take a right at the light onto Park Avenue.  We are the third driveway on the right.  There is parking at the back of the house and driveways on both sides to make the lot easier to navigate.  There is also a wheelchair ramp at the back entrance. 

Each insurance company is different so the best thing is to call member services on your card.  This ensures that you get accurate and up to date information on your specific policy.  At Thelma's we are participating providers with:

• Medicare
• MVP
• BlueCross BlueShield
• BlueChoice
• Aetna
• Cigna (MVP policies)

These insurance companies will cover a portion of the cost for breast prosthesis and post-mastectomy bras. Some will also cover part of the cost for post-mastectomy camisoles, lymphedema products and wigs. We call each insurance company for every client in order to calculate the correct co-insurance and/or upgrades that may apply to the purchase that day. 

At Thelma's we submit the insurance claim for you.  To do this, we need your insurance card(s), photo ID and a PRESCRIPTION from a doctor.  The presciptions are valid for one year, so please be proactive in getting them each time you make a visit to our boutique. 

We are more than happy to provide products from our donation collection to women that have no insurance coverage. Just stop by the boutique any time during our open hours. 

Yes.  A post-mastectomy bra has a discreet pocket in the cup that holds a breast form or small insert to provide balance for women who have had a lumpectomy or reconstruction surgery. Even with reconstruction surgery post-mastectomy bras are covered by most insurance companies with a doctor's prescription.
